FABRIC CARE & Preservation

Suede

Crafted from the softest underside of calfskin or lambskin, suede is prized for its tactile warmth, velvety finish, and effortless drape. With delicate care, your suede piece will acquire a rich patina over time while maintaining its original beauty.

Routine Maintenance: Restoring the Nap

Gentle Brushing: After every few wears, gently brush the suede using a soft natural-bristle or crepe suede brush. Always stroke in a single direction following the natural lay of the fibers to lift surface dust and revive the nap.

Air Out After Wear: Allow your garment to rest for 24 hours between wearings in a well-ventilated room, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

Weather Protection & Water Exposures

Pre-Treating: BEFORE its first wear, apply a high-grade, fluorocarbon-free suede protector spray from a distance of 20–30 cm. Reapply periodically, especially before damp weather.

In Case of Rain: If caught in precipitation, do not rub the garment. Dab excessive moisture immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Allow the piece to dry naturally at room temperature away from radiators or heaters. Once completely dry, lightly brush the suede to lift the velvet texture.

SPOT TREATMENT & STAIN CARE

DRY MARKS & SCUFFS: USE A SPECIALIZED SUEDE ERASER OR CREPE BLOCK TO WORK OUT MINOR SCUFFS OR DRIED MUD GENTLY. APPLY MINIMAL PRESSURE IN SWIFT, LIGHT STROKES.

LIQUID SPILLS: IMMEDIATELY BLOT—NEVER RUB—THE AREA WITH AN ABSORBENT MICROFIBER CLOTH. ALLOW THE MOISTURE TO DRAW OUT COMPLETELY BEFORE LIGHT BRUSHING.

OIL OR GREASE STAINS: DUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF CORNSTARCH OR TALCUM POWDER ONTO THE SPOT AND ALLOW IT TO SIT OVERNIGHT TO ABSORB THE OIL. BRUSH AWAY GENTLY THE FOLLOWING MORNING.

STORAGE & HANGING GUIDELINES

STRUCTURE & SUPPORT: STORE JACKETS AND COATS ON WIDE, CONTOURED WOODEN HANGERS TO PRESERVE THE SILHOUETTE. AVOID WIRE OR THIN PLASTIC HANGERS, WHICH CAN PERMANENTLY STRETCH THE SHOULDERS.

BREATHABLE COVERS: ENCASE GARMENTS IN BREATHABLE COTTON GARMENT BAGS. NEVER STORE FINE SUEDE IN PLASTIC COVERS, AS TRAPPED HUMIDITY CAN CAUSE MOISTURE DAMAGE OR MILDEW.

ENVIRONMENT: KEEP STORED ITEMS IN A COOL, DARK, AND DRY WARDROBE SHIELDED FROM DIRECT LIGHT AND ARTIFICIAL HEAT SOURCES TO PREVENT FADING AND DRYING OF THE LEATHER.
